I am writing to keep you appraised of my interest in the proposed use of the UC-Hastings' site at Golden Gate & Larkin Streets in San Francisco. I appreciate your willingness to use the power of your office to help prevent a parking garage from damaging the character of the Tenderloin neighborhood.

The two proposals Hastings has submitted so far still provide too much parking! Every parking space limits the amount of housing that can be built, and further impact pedestrian and bicycle safety and transit efficiency. Please keep the pressure on Hastings to respond to neighborhood concerns that the city in general and the Tenderloin in particular need more housing, not more parking.
