Yeah, thanks so much to everyone who came out and everyone who took
part in the conversation, it really worked well and serves as a big
step forward in sorting things out for civility. It was huge to have
Ross and Christina there, and after-school-special great to have Paul
Maltzer present -- there was a little tension coming into the meeting
about perceived sleights to MEA, and having Paul there made the
meeting much more full and valuable. Nice to meet Joe Steinberger
from BAAQMD and Rajiv Bhatia from DPH, and everybody who's been there
the whole time, for years or decades. Several salutes to Greg Hayes,
I'm sure his ears were burning . . .
I've already had the meeting tapes duped, and I'm listening to one of
the dupes; we'll definitely get them transcribed pronto. They sound
pretty clear, but there's one flaw that I knew about even before the
meeting was over -- I'd started the tape recorder wrong, didn't
actually tape anything for the first 15 minutes, while I gave my
swell CEQA / Bike Planning intro and overview. After I finished and
Rachel came up, I noticed that the level meters weren't bopping, so I
hit stop and hit the buttons to start taping again, and then the
levels bopped . . . Sure enough, all of my beautiful prologue talk is
gone, but that's just as well for my humility. I've got notes to
serve for minutes but I'll have to ask Rachel to repeat the first
ninety seconds of her presentation (sorry) for the record. Otherwise,
all's well with the tape, so we'll get it typed up and keep the
conversation going, thanks again, see you soon . . .
Use your bell,
