Everyone has made good points (such a smart list this one is)

 

I have had this extremist conversation with people and it I think
extremism serves only on a theoretical level, but Mike and others are
correct, it does not work and cannot work in our society or we'll all
become a bunch of crazed lunatics yelling out every time a dog starts to
poop on the grass, a bike runs a stop sign, or a car parks on a few
inches of the sidewalk making a delivery.  I have never called in for
delivery or short-term sidewalk offenses and agree that this is part of
the give and take of city life.  I have asked people to back up to make
more room while moving or such if they have been totally inconsiderate
of sidewalk users and there is clearly more space.  

 

But I like the "Car Free is Care Free" chant!  Anybody want to go
chanting on Haight Street this weekend?
