[Carfreeliving] Extremists?

Why are people automatically extremists when their point of view is
different than yours? Just like Arnold Shwartzndfgkldfgj calls any
interest different than his a 'special interest' you are referring to
people who see things differently than you as 'extremists?' Are we
terrorists too? Well, all apologies for seeing sidewalk space as something
more than a parking lot -- for cars or motorcycles. Allen Jacobs depicts
how I feel about sidewalks perfectly, they are the only refuge for
urbanites to go to and spend time outside. Most of us don't have
backyards, front-yards, what have you. I don't spend much time in parks
because, frankly, they are boring. Sidewalks are where the action is. It
is where I can watch people, interact with people, appreciate a
neighborhood, awe at the architecture of the buildings.

In order to avoid passive-aggressiveness, I stop to tell someone to stop
parking on the sidewalk. Most of the time I get an "I will park here" or a
"So what." Now they know who called on their automobile. I personally
don't call unless they get a warning of some kind from me--why they need
one I am not sure. Maybe it has to do with the fact that most people are
driving around with their head up their a** and just follow everyone
else. Which leads to why I don't think motorcycles should park on
sidewalks...although not much of a nuisance, automobile drivers--the real
nuisance--will quickly follow. Thankfully, I don't have to worry about it
much anymore. People can't even drive on my side of the street right
now--Octavia.

Cheers to wide open sidewalks!
